So my story starts 4 months ago, We were moving to Pittsburgh, I wanted a moving company to move our stuff so we could have a fun time moving to Pittsburgh without the hassle of driving the truck. I received a quote from 911 movers for 1000 dollars, I liked the price so was going to call 911 movers. David seemed very polite and we did a count down of my stuff for a more accurate quote. We did the quote, it came to over 3000 dollars, I was ok with that. The day of the move, I was told they would have a BIG truck, we got Penske, I was told we would have professional movers, we got people from the Home Depot parking lot. I said no i paid them 3000 up front. I was told I would not get any of my money back if canceled now. So i was over a barrel and had time constraints and I had to move now.
Then I was told that we had too much stuff, and that the new price would be 7000 dollars. So the now i was bent over a barrell with time problems and now being charged another 4000 dollars because they brought a penske truck. To boot, the Home Depot people broke my personal hand truck, the “professional” driver if you can call him that all of a sudden said “Hey we do not have room for your stuff, you have to pay more money or leave your stuff.
Now I have a 4000 dollar bill, their Penske Truck cant hold my stuff, they broke my stuff, my wife is in tears, I am pissed. So i give away what I can trash what I do not want and get it over with. The “professional” says he will make it up to me I do not need to pay anything right now, just pay with the bill….they get ready to go and the Professional says “Oh you have to pay at least 600 now or we will not deliver” , So in review so far, we have liars, we have thieves, I could have hired people from Home Depot just the same…. but it gets better, and we learn that the 911 movers company is a bunch of thieves and liars from David to Lee the female manager who is either so oblivious to what is happening or such a piss poor liar that she has a special place in hell.
So we are in Pittsburgh, we have nothing to sleep on for 1 week, ok bad but we figured there would be some time without clothes and furniture. So the truck comes, a much better experience, we have our stuff…..except we do not have our stuff, we are missing 1.) electronics (dvd players, video game consoles, computers) 2.) My Mothers Bed 3.) Sewing equipment 4.) Tools and Tool boxes. So we call, Lee tell us “You have all your stuff we packed it you have it.” except we do not. Back and forth we go until I get upset and tell them on the phone “I am calling the police for theft, you have stolen our stuff and I am making a report to the San Diego Police department.” Lee call back, gets the delivery truck people on the phone with us, she says we are blaming them for stealing our stuff, she says that we are BLAMING someone else for this theft. I tell her ‘NO, we are holding 911 movers responsible, you stole our stuff, I am calling the police.”
Next day, I get a call “Hello we found 9 boxes of your stuff in our warehouse” Now tell me people how does it go from you have it, to the delivery people stole it, to oh hey guys we found it. Do i get compensated for their incompetence, for the frustration of having to threaten these people with police action, of course not, according to Lee she was doing charity work for us, she was doing this at cost and it only cost us 7000 dollars for her to do charity. So we wait 2 months before i get upset enough to threaten again legal action if I do not have my stuff at my house in Pittsburgh by the end of the month, Lee again says “It is only 9 small boxes, really you are making too much of this, it is just small boxes.” I tell her to mail my small boxes then to me, but I am buying a plane ticket to California with intentions to filing police reports and whatever I need to do….guess what got a call in a couple of days the truck is on its way.
So the truck gets here, they are a bunch of lazy people, it all of a sudden becomes our problem to move the stuff from their truck to our house, they would not lift a finger, so now I am unloading a truck, oh and those 9 small boxes were 35 large boxes, and to boot our 35 boxes had water damage all over it. We got our stuff we think, but guess what again 911 has stolen from someone else, not us this time.
If there is anyone out there missing a box of clothes we have it, and to tell you they went through your clothes cause we found two of our boxes tucked away in your box. So I do not know what they stol from you but hey I have it.
Do I recommend 911 movers, only if you feel like being robbed and taken advantage of please do it. other wise there is bette ways of accomplishing this.
